The sandwiches are DELICIOUS. The fresh mozzarella is a must! We had the italiano and Giovanni sandwiches on ciabatta and loved them.
Too soon for a follow up? Nope!!! This place is the bomb!!! Giovanni is the man!!! Seen his Gladiator on TikTok and had to stop in and get it!!! As always, welcoming feel right when you walk in! Giovanni, has a huge smile and his concern for all his customers is outstanding!!! Right after peek lunch and the guy was still cooking like crazy!! Making up Pasta Fagioli! And then handing everyone in the place a little helping of it! Yes it was amazing! As well as the bit of Chicken cutlet he also gave out to everyone. Fresh and hot!!! AMAZING!!! The Gladiator was humongous!!! And it was AWESOME!!! Give it a go!!! This place is very fun, welcoming and all around just comfortable! If you are looking for a good sangwich, with some good vibes! This is without doubt the best place!!! Two thumbs up here!!!
You've seen Giovanni on social media, how can you pass on one of his crazy and delicious creations? I've been to G & R deli before, this is a new location and I'm coming to see what's cooking. (See what I did there) I had to do some work in White Plains, so I planned my visit around lunchtime. Once inside, there are so many great sandwich choices! First time here and I'm going with the "That's Amore" sandwich. Fresh prosciutto, sun dried tomatoes and my favorite, Stracciatella cheese wrapped onto a hero. Mamma Mia! This thing is a weapon! Just a massive Italian sandwich that you aren't getting anywhere but New York baby! Giovanni comes in and tells all of us, he was taking in a vodka delivery for the homemade vodka sauce. I thank him, pay for my sandwich and sit outside. My first bite? No, how you doin'? Perfecto. Just the right about of prosciutto and cheese. From the balsamic glaze to the freshly seeded Italian bread, this sandwich is a winner in my book. I'm eating and there's a knock on the window. Giovanni is waving me to come inside. I walk in and he throws me a hunk of the fresh mozzarella he's making? Holy moley, did you ever have that happen at your local deli? Giovanni is such a solid dude, we all have love for a great Italian sandwich and he just takes it to the next level. You've been seeing the videos on social media. Trust me, these are legit sandwiches that's worth a trip on the cross Bronx expressway.
We had excellent sandwiches here today. I tried to call a few times and it didn't go through but then it finally did. I called in our sammies at around 4 pm on a Sat in October and they told me about 20 mins. I got in and the image of the main guy on the door behind scared me slightly. That's my comment for ambiance. I had to remind myself a few times that it was just an image. The sammies were ready and I was on my way back home. They were very very tasty. The use of the word "fresh" before the word mozzarella finally comes true. No more folklore. We loved the sandwiches. If I had to pick any one minus to say it was that the bread could have been jusssssst a little bit fresher but it was still good bread anyway. We will be back.
This place is everything you can ask for. Soon as you enter, friendly people help you out with the menu. pick your bread and sandwich short wait, Gio is talking to everybody. Super friendly owner. place was alive and the food forces eyes to shut and you make sounds of pleasure it was so good... and the ingredients incredible fresh and unique.
Ok..let's start with full disclosure..I'm a total Fan Boy!!! Been watching this Gentleman's G & R Tiktoks for a few years now..when I heard he was opening a Deli in White Plains I got very excited. So, now that I tried it, what can I say?..let's start with this..the property value just went up in North WP!! This place is Fantastic! I had the " Joe Rogan " my wife had the "Italian flag"..both huge, delicious, and beautiful. I was very surprised to see the owner there on a Sunday making sandwiches and personally handing customers fresh homemade cheeses. His personally it's exactly what it appears to be on social media..Super friendly and a larger then life personality. Giovanni's is more then just a Deli..it's very clear as soon as you walk in. It's walking distance from the beautiful Kensico Dam ( we brought our sandwiches down and had a nice picnic ) Folks, do not sleep on this newest treat to come to Westchester. ENJOY!
Stopped in for lunch. Wow! I was tossed a nice, warm mozzarella ball! It was fabulous! Great texture and pull. We ordered the number 4 and the How U Doin on seeded wedges. Omg! They were both huge and delicious! Mine was chicken cutlet with fresh mozzarella, roasted red peppers and I asked for eggplant on top. Definitely memorable! The bread was really exceptional, with the seeds. There's nothing like good Italian bread! The owner was a doll, and the guys working there are friendly and efficient. I will be back very soon! Can't wait to try the left-hand menu and work my way down
